Project in an Art Residency

This installation was crafted specifically for Yunnan Lijiang International Torch Festival - Land of Wilderness, and sponsored by EASIN国际义工旅行 and 中国生灵. Thanks the organizers of Land of Wildernesss for collecting the works permanently after this residency.

Concept

"Rebirth" is a site-specific installation designed to explore the symbiotic relationship between women and nature. The installation incorporates handmade crafts created by ethnic minority women from Fenghuang, using natural materials. It delves into how these marginalized women extend the possibilities of their lives through their hand. Notably, the work is placed in a triangular white-box space, attempting to bring a closed, systematized high-art context into the "wilderness," thereby expanding the potential of the art creation field and presenting the mutual empowerment and collision between nature and art.
